Los City Trek
Choose from a 3-5 city trek where you will be going from Santa Marta to a small town called El Mamey and where you will start your trek to Los City (Ciudad Perdida). From there you go to the first camp and spend the night. The following day you visit an indigenous village called Mutanzi and head to the 3rd camp. From this camp you will head to Ciudad Perdida. You will be trekking for about 6-8 hours daily, led by a tour guide and staying in camps along the way and provided breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. This is a must do while in Santa Marta, a backpackers dream come true. If you are up to the challenge, you need to add this to your itinerary while in Santa Marta, Colombia.
Tayrona National Park
Tayrona has the most gorgeous beaches in Colombia and some of the best around the world. There are several beaches you can visit when you visit the park and also camp along the beach in certain areas or stay in one of the hotels.
Rodadero Aquarium
If you are bringing the kids with you, this is a must for the family.
Canopy
Feeling adventurous ? Head to Playa Blanca to canopy into the sea. Hope you are no afraid of heights.
Parque De Los Novios
This park is located in the historic sector of Downtown Santa Marta where you will be able to relax, enjoy a nice cup of Colombian coffee, go to a museum, visit some of the bars, restaurants in the area and go an a shopping spree.
Shopping
In this lovely Colombian city, you can find all sorts of handicrafts in the many locales that can be found in different spots all around the city, shopping centers, the historic center, the street markets and the handicraft fairs. From clothing, jewelry, shoes and wallets to local, national and international brand name items can be found here.
Minca
Head to Minca for the day and tour some of the best coffee farms in Santa Marta or head to the water falls in Minca and enjoy some of the cooler climate.
